Youth Programs

Here at DREAMS, there are all kinds of ways to be creative…from cave painting to metalsmithing to musical theater. Classes at the Center are cumulative —We are not a drop-in program!— and are held after school and throughout the summer.

In the Fall and Spring, we hold after-school classes four days a week.

Students aged 8-10 have class Tuesdays and Thursdays. They take four 60-minute classes every week--two on Tuesday, and two on Thursday. Classes run from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m.

Students aged 11-17 have class Mondays and Wednesdays. They take two 90-minute classes every week--one on Monday, and one on Wednesday. Classes run from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.

Also, during the Fall and Spring, students ages 13 and up can participate in Teen Council. This club participates in special activities such as field trips, college visits, and community service. During the Fall and Spring semesters, Teen Council typically gathers every Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Occasionally they meet on Saturdays also for trips or community activities. Please contact Casey Trull for the most up-to-date information: or 910-772-1501 x 109.

In the summer, we hold three weeks of summer camp. Students aged 8-10 come from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Students aged 11-17 come from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This camp typically takes place during the last three weeks of June, and holds a showcase in early July.

All of our classes are led by professional teaching artists who are dedicated to sharing their enthusiasm for the arts with our young DREAMers.
